I swear I longed to blog everyday but I just can't because I have too many assignments and tests. I didn't even have enough time to study! Just bear with me, all this waiting will be over in nine months time. Anyway, it's pretty obvious about what I'm about to blog as my title reveals it all. I know I've blogged about macarons last time (HERE) but I just couldn't get enough of those little things! Too adorable (and sickeningly sweet) to ignore. :3 So, after my mini trip to Mun Mun's house, we decided to try baking macarons. We were kinda worried because Mun Mun told me that she'd failed FIVE times. Whoa, scary. Nevertheless, we love macarons so...

Heh.

I had the whole process of us baking from the start but my SD card died and only some pictures survived. Around 300+ pictures disappeared; I'm very upset right now. I can only show you what happened after the batches entered the oven. Sigh, better than nothing at all. :(

If you can see droplets, those are actually our butter spread melting.

Pretty much the outcome - FAILED. Look more like cookies instead, haha.

Second batch!

After all of them were baked, we paired them together according to their size to form the top and bottom of the macaron.

Then we spread peanut butter and strawberry jam! :D SICKENINGLY SWEEEEET!

The end product. Most of my friends liked it when I shared with them although they tasted too sweet.

Sesame seeds as deco, haha. Not bad, actually.

So, yea. We officially failed. I mean, they don't look so bad lah but they're far from the real ones. My sister then went to a baking course and learnt how to bake macarons for realz. Like, FINALLY, someone in the family is enlightened, omagad.

Now, here are her VERY OWN macarons... DRUM ROLL, PLEASE!

.

.

.

TADAA! YES, SHE BAKED THEM HERSELF. :D FOR REALZ!!! NOT SOME TUMBLR PICTURE, OKAY! SUPER AWESOME, RIGHT?! :DDD

OMG, I'm impressed! They look perfect!

Like those in pictures! Exactly like them! :')

Flavours, flavours, flavours... A whole box of them. :d

I wasn't even willing to eat them. They're such gorgeous babies!

The baker and her product. :D

I think I explained about the texture of a macaron in my previous macaron post (HERE) but I failed at it so here's what the insides of a macaron look like. A picture speaks a thousand words, true story.

Crumbled outsides with a soft texture inside then the sickeningly sweet cream... MAC MADNESS!

Okay, enough about macarons. That day, my sister also learnt how to bake. A cake. A freaking cake. A freaking cake fit to be in front of a birthday kid.

This cake is baked by my sister; every single detail was done by her. I AM NOT KIDDING, SHE IS THAT GOOD.

Notice the weaves by the side, the piping pattern at the rim, the rose...

... the coloured sprinkles, the delicate wording and once again the intricate weaving...

ALL DONE BY THIS LOVELY LADY HERE. WHAT'S MORE, SHE ONLY LEARNT TO BAKE IT IN FIVE FREAKING HOURS! :O APPLAUSE, APPLAUSE! I'm so proud of my sister! :')

We refused to eat the cake as it was so pretty but my sister just said, "Aiya, eat lah, eat lah!" LOL. With her permission, we dug in and devoured everything.

More weaving patterns... Seriously, too unique. I bet all your birthday cakes put together look even noober than this. >:)

It's actually a blueberry cake, tasted deelayshious! :9

Hey, wipe off that drool from your mouth, it's disgusting. Hahaha, just kidding (or am I?). We've come to an end of another awesome post of mine and I bet you're very sad. Aww, don't cry, I'll blog again next time. :P So, I guess we succeeded in baking (or my sister did) after all the agony and pain we went through? :D Victory is ours!

On a side note, I hope my blog doesn't turn into a food blog because that will really contribute a lot to my body weight. D:

Now, I'm worried. Gahhh.
