LEFT.
It's such a tough job as you have to stand under the hot sun to paint. Sweat trickles down your forehead/spine and you feel lightheaded because of the heat. Paint gets onto your hands and feet, your overalls and shirt, practically EVERYWHERE which is so annoying. Sometimes, them irritating flies buzz around you and you have to shoo them away, forgetting all the while you're still holding the paintbrush. The next thing you know, your owner's new BMW has paint on it and your worst nightmare has begun. Oh, and what if it rains in the middle of your job? Need I say more?
I painted my house gate today! :B It's still the same colour as the last but at least the gate looks glossier now. Victory! My head is throbbing kinda badly right now because of the heat. Thinking back, I feel very bad because I remember my mum had to paint the gate alone last time. It's an exhausting task and we always take it for granted. :/ I learnt so much by just painting the gate; it's not even the whole house, man.
- Mix a little bit of thinner with the paint first before painting or else the paint will be too thick. Not too much thinner, though; the paint will drip.
- CONTAINERS ARE NECESSARY, OMAGAD. For what? You ask. TO CONTAIN THE PAINT LAH.
- Before beginning on the job, spread newspaper below the gate to avoid paint drops on the ground.
- Paint evenly in one direction.
- Don't forget to paint ON TOP and UNDERNEATH the gate.
- Paint at least five layers underneath the gate because that's where all the raindrops collect and cling unto.
- Use a mirror to check where you've not painted underneath the gate.
- Paint slowly to avoid the hair(?) of the paintbrush from coming out and sticking onto your freshly painted gate.
- TWO bottles of thinner are needed.
- Painting on a hot day is better than painting on a rainy day.
- WEAR GLOVES. Seriously, you'll not regret it.
- Paint systematically so that you know which part of the gate you've already painted.
- Don't use runny paint to avoid paint drops from drying and hanging off the gate.
- Keep from painting the hinges and handles or else when the paint dries off, you can't open the door. LOL.
- Wear a hat when you're painting. Super hot, I tell ya.
- If you have a noisy dog, walk it first to keep its trap shut. LMAO. Cruel but very important so that you'll not disturb your neighbours.
- Wear old clothes/clothes that you don't want anymore so that you won't feel so sad when paint gets on it (like me D:).
- Peel away rusts first before painting.
- Don't forget to paint every nook and cranny. Corners are very important.
- Painting alone is really tiring so ask your siblings to help.

Oh, and my new discovery :
YOU CAN USE NAIL POLISH REMOVER TO REMOVE PAINT FROM YOUR FINGERS! :O
It's true! Proven fact. I've tried it and it works! :D
BEFORE :
AFTER :
I DIDN'T USE SOAP OR/AND WATER AT ALL, OKAY. Cool, right? So, girls, get your nail polish remover ready when you get paint on your fingertips. :)
One more miraculous thing happened. We were painting halfway when suddenly the first few raindrops hit my head. They made soft, splattering sounds on the newspapers that we've spread under the gate. I mumbled a simple prayer in the drizzling rain, begging God to make the rain stop. IMMEDIATELY, the sun shone and the rain stopped. Yes, it stopped. IN JUST A FEW MINUTES. Wow. Next thing I know, I was sweating like mad under the scorching sun. Amen, anyone? :]
When I praised and thanked God for preventing the rain, I found my brother scowling at me. "What?" I asked. "Stupid, why did you ask God to stop the rain? If it rains, we don't have to paint anymore, haiyo." I laughed so hard when I heard his reply. Lazy piece of shit, LOL.
